Eastern Mediterranean Doğa Primary School and Kindergarten celebrated the 42nd anniversary of the founding of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, a symbol of independence and freedom, with great pride and enthusiasm.
First and foremost, Freedom Leader Dr. Fazıl Küçük, Founding President Rauf R. Denktaş, and all the martyrs were remembered with gratitude. In his speech at the ceremony, Mr. Şansel Fırtınaer, Principal of the Eastern Mediterranean Nature Primary School and Kindergarten, explained the meaning and importance of the day: He stated that November 15, 1983, was a historic day that crowned the struggle for existence and freedom, which the Turkish Cypriot people will always be proud of, by establishing a state. He emphasized that, without ever forgetting the difficult days of the past and looking to the future with confidence, they are determined and resolute in their commitment to take this state, built with great sacrifice, even further in all areas. The performances by the second-grade students of Doğa Primary School with their play “We Are the Children of the Republic” were very enthusiastic and inspiring. At the end of the play,
the students pledged to keep the republic alive forever and then made their words permanent on the Tree of the Republic. The gymnastics group’s spectacular performances added great color to the ceremony. The ceremony concluded with the choir singing Cypriot songs.
