3 December International Day of Persons with Disabilities Awareness: Towards a Barrier-Free Tomorrow with Empathy!
As the Guidance Department of Doğa International Schools, we held a meaningful awareness event on 3 December, International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
Presentations were held in all our classes to inform our students about the rights of persons with disabilities and the challenges they face in daily life. To raise awareness on this special day:
Sign Language Alphabet Training was provided to support our students’ basic communication skills.
Empathy Activities enabled our students to understand differences from the heart.
As part of the Braille Alphabet Awareness Activity, practical work was carried out using examples commonly encountered in daily life. In particular, Braille writing on medicine boxes was examined, emphasising the importance and practical use of this alphabet.
Let us not forget that the real barrier is a lack of love. We are all together with all our differences; empathy is the strongest bond that unites us.
