October 4 World Animal Protection Day

The volunteers of Eastern Mediterranean University Underwater Research and Imaging Center provided information to our 6th grade students of Doğa College on the first Friday of October in the İskele Region about loggerhead sea turtles and green turtles, which are theoretically taught in Social Sciences classes. The information provided included information on the species of turtles that come to our island, their spawning areas, their processes, protection after spawning, and the conditions that make the spawning process difficult for turtles. The aim of the students to grow up as more conscious, sensitive to the environment, nature, and animals, and individuals with high awareness with the information they acquired on “October 4 World Animal Protection Day”.
