Students of the Eastern Mediterranean Doğa Kindergarten and Primary School remembered Rauf Raif Denktaş with respect and fondness.

The pupils of the Eastern Mediterranean Doğa Kindergarten and Primary School honoured our Founding President and community leader, Mr Rauf R. Denktaş, who holds a very special place in the hearts of the Turkish nation, with respect and gratitude on the 14th anniversary of his passing. The ceremony began with the student council laying a wreath and continued with speeches explaining the meaning and importance of the day. Emotional moments were experienced with the recitation of Rauf Raif Denktaş’s poem ‘I Have Two Flags’, which has a special place in people’s hearts, and the lyrical dance performance that accompanied the poem. Second-grade students then recited the poem ‘O Kıbrıs’ın Torosu’ (The Bull of Cyprus). Second-grade students also conveyed the message that they will never forget and will never let the founding president, who will live forever in the hearts of the Turkish Cypriot people, be forgotten, with their performance of ‘Draw a Picture, My Child’ accompanied by the song ‘Rauf Denktaş’. The ceremony concluded with songs performed by the school choir.
