The 42nd anniversary of the founding of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus was celebrated with enthusiasm at Doğu Akdeniz Doğa College. The program began with a moment of silence and the National Anthem, followed by a speech about the significance of the day.
The speech emphasized that the Republic symbolizes the struggle for freedom and existence for the Turkish Cypriot people. Students recited poems that filled hearts with pride once again, while folk songs expressed their joy for the Republic, and the Cypriot melodies performed by the school orchestra were met with great admiration. Cultural food stands set up in the schoolyard showcased the TRNC’s rich culture with halloumi treats, lattice, and local delicacies. The event concluded with students waving flags and singing along to Cypriot melodies performed by the school orchestra. Doğa = Republic
